Default House Bill 137

I know we are not supposed to speak about politics here, but this bill impacts all motorcycle riders in the state of Florida. Please read:

http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sectio...9&SessionId=57

I hope that the powers that be do misinterpret this post as a political view point or other. I don't want to even get into a political discussion of the merits of the bill. I just want to make suure everyone is aware and they can contact their representative if they do not agree.

30mph over means they can seize and auction your bike. Lets hope a cop with a chip on his shoulder doesn't just decide to seize your bike for the hell of it.

I don't want to feed any real discussion here about the merits or consequences of the bill. I'm on thin ice as it is. I just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention. If you have issues with it, please contact your district representative.

I wrote my rep and I'm sure that the AMA is lobbying against it. There's enough bikers in Florida to be able to stop this bill.

It seems to me if you were going 30 over and saw red lights in your mirrors you might be inclined to try to save you bike and crack the throttle rather than just hand your bike over to be auctioned off.

Exactly. It will cause more issues than resolve them.
