A call to play hookey

I just have to share that I went for the most amazing canyon ride this morning in Malibu. It was just incredible. I usually ride on the weekends, but I had the opportunity to ride today for once. I have to say, riding during the week was SO much better. There was no traffic or cops to be seen. Instead of having my canyon fun being changed to SUCK by the soccor mom that pulls out in front of you and goes 15 around all the corners, there was only wide open road. There were no other bikes to deal with, and it was so peaceful and beautiful. Also, how often do we get to enjoy the beauty of riding along the coast when PCH is crammed with traffic on the weekends? Today I was just amazed at how I could gaze out over the ocean without worrying about which idiot was going to pull out of beach parking in front of me or pull an illegal uturn in the middle of PCH. So nice.

I would encourage anyone who wants to have an amazing ride to play hookey from work one day during the week and just cut loose. ;D

I guess my pants are a little lowcut and my jacket isn't long enough cuz I got a bad sunburn on my a$$. It looks like a red tattoo.

riding on a day off is the best. I had an awesome ride on Good Friday and there was hardly any traffic anywhere, even on Ortega.
