SoCal Structural Engineering firms?
The time has come for me to look for a job. Actually, it's come and gone and I'm behind the game on this one. I know there's a couple of ARCHs out there. Can you guys rattle off the names of companies that you've worked with? I'm not looking for recommendations, just names. I'll do all the applying and whatnot on my own. Unless of course you wanna be Erik's new best friend. Then by all means I'll take any recommendations I can get. ;D
I'd like stay around the Torrance area but I'll go where I need to for work. Thanks, guys!

Re: SoCal Structural Engineering firms?
I have used Brandow & Johnston - think they're in OC - it has been a while so no guarantees this is good info (sorry if it's a dead lead)

Re: SoCal Structural Engineering firms?
Cool, thanks. It says they have an office in LA and one in Newport Beach. Works for me. Mind if I ask how your experience was with them and maybe what the project was?

Haha, the interview with B&J didn't go well. I let it slip that I want to move north eventually and that killed it right then and there. : Gotta be more careful and less relaxed next time.

Anybody dealt with Saiful and Bouqet? How about Nabih Youssef? I hear S&B broke off from NY. I'm also looking at LPA. I hear they bought out a small structural engineering firm to start a structural division in house.

you'll interview better w/ experience. when i'm "on the market", i usually do a few BS interviews just to get back in the swing of answering (stupid) questions.
among other things, it'll eventually become second nature to not answer "what salary are you looking for?" with a number.

Stop thinking. >
My wife got her position after interviewing for a different one. They felt she was wrong for it, but liked her and her experience so much that they created a position for her.
You may be closing the door to the perfect job because of nonsense. Let *them* decide if you're right for the position, don't rob yourself of the chance.
