Default local pd and bike mods

Since this is the so cal board and i am indeed a so cal rider, i was wondering if anyone here has had any particular trouble with ticketing concerning tail chops/revamped lights/moved license plates and such. i'd like to chop my tail and redo the lights, but don't really want to draw any more attention to my already visually and audibly loud bike (full termi's on a white s4rs). has anybody had any particularly negative response to these mods in south orange county and the adjacent areas? if so, what were the consequences? i appreciate any feedback you can give.

Got a fix-it by notorious HBPD when I had my plate hidden in my wheel well, since then have been fine with the location under tail light.

I've been stopped in HB for license plate rake (The first and last time I will take a bike anywhere near OC [laugh])...I had the same set-up as Evo's pic...

I had high termi's at the time too, and nothing was said about them...oh, and no fix it ticket was written. [thumbsup]

By design, the Monster doesn't seem to have the visual clearance for stuffing the plate near the hugger...

IMO, keeping the plate visible for the fuzz is key. The pipes will prolly get you stopped first in Malibu though, especially in the summer months, the force is keen on writing/ pulling over bikes for pipes because of noise complaints by the residents.

I just changed exhaust on my bike and moved everything around...but I kept the plate visibility high priority.

an integrated taillight/indicator will get you stopped in the beach cities as well.

+1 on the visible plate.

i was considering moving the plate further into the well, but i think i'll keep it closer to the original location now, and likely stay away from the integrated's. thank you all for your prompt responses, it's so nice having such a great resource so easily accessible.

does malibu pull you over bc of pipes do they then pull over all the Harley guys with straight pipes? afterall i notice that with my termi lows on its louder than normal but if i'm next to a harley and we both start up, you can't hear my bike at all anymore not even at idle.

so the termis i think are not even that loud compared to alot of aftermarket pipes, heck they are quieter than arrow pipes.

don't matter...and yes they will ticket the Harley's too...

the story goes...

we are all at Malibu Kitchen, big pack of Ducs. Two moto cops pull up and give us fair warning, explaining that the noise tix are coming down from the top and they are to tix all aftermarket pipes. Motocop then sites every aftermarket name you can think of...(obvious street rider? ;D) and then we asked about Harley's...they, yes, are just as likely to get cited.

Recently, Ryan and I were flying down Mullholland, cop passes us, turns around, passes me ( ) and pulls Ryan over...radar NOT on...but he gets Ryan for pipes...I had not changed mine out, rolling stock=no fix it tix...

Ryan later told me he makes NO change to the pipes, rolls out to Malibu and gets the fix-it tix signed off on the Termis... [laugh]

I guess maybe the cops get antsy in their pantsy on weekends when there are a lot of riders. I work in Malibu and commute every day for two years and I have NEVER been pulled over or given a hard time. I have a full Yoshi system on the Gixxer and cored out pipes on the Duc. Maybe being a Chixxer helps. ;D

Oh, and I have the slutty pipes since they have been passed from Luca - MetalDuc - Me. Someone wrap those things up. >
