No one can quantify 'soul' for you, that's a personal preference thing.

But for the record, the S2r 800 actually has less horsepower than the 696.

Remember, Ducati's don't have valve springs like a regular bike. There are rocker arms that open and close the valve. Because of this they kind of sound like sewing machines. Totally normal.

I don't think that the two throttle bodies need to (or really even should) be connected.

The remap doesn't add power, it just makes the bike nicer to ride. It is mapped way too lean from the factory, adding slip ons will only add to the issue.

Your 696 runs lean from the factory. Adding the slip ons doesn't help matters.

Get the ecu remapped and all your issues will be fixed. Motowheels does it. I'd suggest getting a high flow filter...
