Bannings, post removals, what next, the Gulag?
This is getting out of hand. I feel like I'm back in the People's Republic of Poland. I once had to stand outside of my third grade classroom because, during a history lesson, I mentioned some facts re: WW2 that the teacher disagreed with because they portrayed the Soviet Union in a negative light.
What's with mommys-little-monster's post being removed?
I anticipate that I'll get a PM from Randimus telling me that this kind of stuff should be raised in a PM. Well, I disagree. There's a rotten fish here, and we all have a right to know the reason for the stink.
I have an idea for "saving" the board. For portraying it in a peaceful, serene light. Let's just remove all posts from the last couple of years; all posts, regardless of date, by myself, Masked Marvel (in his many incarnations), Mojo, Bick, etc.; and all posts that do not specifically have to do with setting up rides, talking about rides, or talking about Ducatis. Then we can lock the forum down, and it will remain pristine for posterity.

Re: Bannings, post removals, what next, the Gulag?
I felt that it was inappropriate.
I asked him to modify or remove it.
He didn't. I did.
You guys can have all the fun you want in here. I have no problem with that.
All I ask is that you treat people with respect.
No one has been banned, except for Pancroft, and that was many months ago. He's not doing himself any favors by repeatedly attempting to come back. He's also having the spotlight shine very brightly on the RMMHA section.
The iPhone issue should be resolved at the moment, but could return, based on his actions.

You concede that Marvel was banned "many months ago." Isn't it time to forgive and forget? As I posted in another thread, he has been pretty well-behaved in his NAG incarnation. As NAG, he hadn't done anything that would get him banned. So what's up?

Re: Bannings, post removals, what next, the Gulag?
Before I got my Ducati I had one friend to ride with. He is s very dear friend and I appreciate that. I found this place on my own and it was to see if there was anyone locally that had a Monster to hang out with. I have met some of the best people here and I have also met some OK people. There is one overwhelming thing that has eluded me and I think most of us, this is not a matter of life or death. This is a casual hang out/meetingplace that that has gotten very personal and an inch right of center.
I understand the personal relationships that form and fracture over time and that one persons fun may be anothers torment. Being part of a public message board is signing up for a journey outside your comfor zone because it is public. There should never be personal attacks and there should be personal respect. People are individuals on many levels and communication in written format can many times be misinterpreted and taken out of context, however, it tends to allow people the opportunity to say or do things they would not do in person, or maybe they would if provoked. Inhibitions are much lower when there is a sense of safety in the faceless internet.
I very much appreciate you all and keep in close contact with my new friends, but the time for me to step back into the sidelights as a lurker has come. I am not interested in being a part of the breakdown of a group. I am here, I will watch, and I will ride.
Best wishes,
JonnyO

Re: Bannings, post removals, what next, the Gulag?
You know something .. this board is seriously starting to suck. Course, I'll probably be banned for saying that in the People's Republic of the DML. ???

Not by me.
I told you guys to have fun.
I ask that you respect each other.
That is all.
As I've repeatedly said, I am not out to ban anyone.
I told you that I will lock or delete posts as I see fit to maintain some sort of normalcy in the RMMHA to prevent it from going the way of the doo-doo bird.
