Default New 796

Had my 796 a couple of weeks now only managed a couple of outings so far. Can anyone advise, is there a nack to selecting neutral? and the bike seems happiest around 4K revs is this about right?

Thanks

I have the same bike and at about 4000km getting into neutral has gotten easier. Not that it was hard to do, just seems to find the 'spot' easier. To the second point, I find 4k rpm and above it runs the smoothest both before and after I put terms on it.

if you put it in neutral while you are still rolling it goes in fairly easily

it doesn't go into neutral as easy when you are already stopped

and yes, 4-6000 RPM is a happy zone

anything below 4K on the 796 and it runs slightly rough. Ive never had any issues finding neutral, just make sure you always downshift when slowing down and make sure your either in 2nd or 1st when your at a complete stop. This makes going into neutral a breeze!

I've got an S2R1k, so I'm not sure if our transmissions are close enough to give advice. On that note, I find it significantly easier to catch neutral going up from 1st as opposed to going down from 2nd.
