Do you use your rear brake??

I never use my rear brake unless I am holding on a hill or stop light in neutral and I want to give my hands a rest. Does everyone else do the same thing? I read somebodys crash post and they mentioned skidding the rear tire causing the crash, and I have always thought that might happen. What are your thoughts?

I typically only use it when coming to a stop because my front brakes are sometimes too grippy. I use the rear to ease into the stop.

I also use it when I'm clutch braking to signal to others behind me that I am slowing down. I don't actually apply brake pressure, I just press it enough to light the brake lights.

I use mine all the time. Only thing I hate is that Ducati howling sould that comes from it. Anyone else have that or is it everyone around here with a Ducati?

Ride the rear a bit to hold speed in slow corners, always when stopping quickly, and to signal drivers behind me even though I'm only engine-braking.

They taught using the rear break in my MSF class, since then I use it all the time. I guess it helps you stop

I think I'm the somebody you spoke of. The only reason I used my rear brake that time was because my front switch was bad and I wanted the people behind me to know I was braking. I don't like the rear brake. >
