Default So here is my track bike

Hi all,
As has been suggested - I should start my own thread so I'll stop jacking other's..

I picked up the bike for 6700euro (plus 300eur paperwork to change title) and had her on the road for a few weeks to see what needed doing before I stripped her down. After problems with the vertical cylinder developing a fish pond under the plug cap, fixed with the minimum of hassle I cleaned the pick up sensor and gave the electrics a once over. As all was well I then commenced stripping her down and then building her back up again.

Spec:
2003 749 biposto - stock suspension

Mods:
54mm Termi system with ECU and air filters - gives a real 112hp at the rear wheel on dyno
Ricambi Weiss race bodywork in glass fibre
Ducati Corse 4 spring slipper clutch >
Barnett clutch friction and steel plates
Aluminium front fairing support

Removed:
Headlight pod and fairing supports - 5-6kg
Horn
Lights, Indicators
Numberplate and support
Mirrors
Original bodywork
Kick stand

Paint:
At home with B&D 2hp compressor and paint gun
Total fuckup

Tires/Tyres:
Dunlop 209GP Racer Endurance Slick 120/70 & 190/55

Suspension:
Setup by WP specialist Wayne at Almeria race track

Thank you:
Duc Painter - thank you Nate for your guidance even though I did fuckup the first time around. I'll paint her again mid summer when there is little track activity and I'll buy enough paint this time round [laugh]

The bike runs very very well even though it's 5 years old, I'm the problem though as i'm used to the Monster Rs on the track with the race termi kit and the killer power. I'm not used to clip ons on a race track nor am I used to a 190/55. Its shameful to say but I've got frikin chicken strips on the rear!!! I thought I had this thing on it's ear last sunday but I saw I still had an inch to go each side, goes to show my lack of experience with a 190. On a 180 I would have been right on the edge [laugh], literally.

I've got my first race this weekend, Ricardo will be riding his 1098s and me the 749. It's a 4 hour endurance race right next to where the spaghetti westerns used to be filmed.

Wish me luck, I'll need it!

Very cool, Kurt.

We expect a good race report of course.
