Default F1 Qualifying ?


Does anyone know why F1 has cool-down lap that must with-in 20% (I think) of the hot lap? In some ways the qualifying part of F1 is more exciting than the actual race.

I think thats new since Melborne. Too may cars were going slow on the track while some guys were still on a hot lap.

+1 and, teams were attempting to conserve fuel as they had to start next days race with that fuel load.
