Default Required Track Gear?

Noobish question here: What equipment do I need to have a go on a track day? A helmet is probably on the list, I'd imagine, along with leathers?.. (top at least?) Thanks in advance.

full leathers, boots, gloves, helmet are standard. many require a full suit, some allow for 2-piece suits. of those that allow for 2-piece'ers, some require full circumference zippers, some just care that they zip together.

many these days also require a back protector.

if your post suggested that you would even consider going out on a track without a full suit or the bottom half of a 2-piece'r to go along with your jacket... don't!

Sportbiketracktime and NESBA are ok with ballistic nylon riding suits in the novice class provided they zip together. Boots must at least come above the ankle and if they have laces they must be taped down.

I wouldn't go out without a back protector, even in B group. I value the ability to walk and I just don't want to take the chance. I know people who have broken their backs WITH a back protector, but they would have been dead without.

As much protection as you possibly can have, many people spend lots of money on their bikes, and don't think about theirselves, it should go the other way around and spend a ton of money on your own protection!!!!!

sure there are always minium requirement, but why settle for that whenyour life depends on it...
