we've discussed the hell out of this last year.
short version: the roadrace series does run in the rain. they don't run in the rain at certain tracks.

Doesn't change my opinion.

If the AMA raced on GP's tracks, they'd run every race rain or shine. The fact they care more about not dying than entertaining the fans only proves that they're smart enough to not be swayed by the fans who think that for $10 they're entitled to see a racer carried away on a stretcher.

So you're saying that the venues create the 'level' of competition.
I don't want to see anyone carried away...it's ludicrous that you'd even suggest that. :

he's saying that many tracks the ama races at are unsafe in the wet.
while we're at it, some are borderline unsafe in the dry. it's a shame that it took duhamel damn near losing his life (again)at road atlanta's turn 12 to finally get this: http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...?article=31657
as i said, that's not the first time that duhamel has been in that position. he almost lost his leg/career/life by impacting an unprotected wall at louden in '98.
the FIM tracks have more strict safety requirements (that are actually adhered to).

Any word from Miguel about the inherent safety, or lack thereof, in motorcycle racing?
The incident at Loud on happened ten years ago. They, AMA, don't race there anymore. Let's let that one rest.
