So we'll be racing in LW Superbike, LW GranPrix, Thunderbike and Supertwins (might have to use the 1098 for that one..... [thumbsup])

jarelj, were you at the last trackaddix day at MAM last year? I was there and saw a group of Ducs together. I just noticed that you're from Omaha so I thought I'd see.

Re: Racing a Monster
Gabriel
can you email me your phone number. I would love to chat with you in more detail regarding what you did to your monster. Your bike is gorgeous in my eyes and is exactly what I would like to do. I will have to check my local organization I think Scca is whats here in FL. Thanks

Yeah, I was there, and I had the Monster there but it had a bent fork tube on it so I was not able to get any real testing done on it. That was shortly after I had gotten it, and before I really had done any modifications to it. I rode my 749R most of the day, and also some of our customer's bikes to help them get their suspensions dialed in. I'll be at pretty much every TrackAddix day again this year.

Re: Racing a Monster
Yeah I saw you. I was on my 600rr, and with some people from Minneapolis. Are you coming up to BIR to trackaddix or do a reciprocal race with CRA this year?

Re: Racing a Monster
I might make it up for one of the track days, I've never ridden at BIR before but I'd like to. Probably won't race any CRA, I used to race in CRA when they ran at MAM a few years ago. My racing will probably be limited to MAM and Hastings this year.

Re: Racing a Monster
I´ve raced my S4Rs (first one) and it was quite ok on a race track. Problems started appearing as my riding got better such as ground clearance, lack of aerodynamic fairings, overly soft fork springs and rear spring also. It was a lot of fun but, I´m moving onto something with clip ons now to improve my racing lines. The monster allowed a lot of tom foolery that ended up getting me spat off the bike and hurt. Was fun whilst it lasted though.

Re: Racing a Monster
After almost 2-years of owning my Monster I will be taking it to my first track day! I have not not done any mods, just replace damaged parts and put on a set of Michelin Pilot Powers and filled them with Nitrogen rather then air to help keep a constant PSI. My question about track days/racing a Monster is how much fuel should I bring? I can hold about 3 gal. in my tank (average 2.75 gal at pumps) and can hit a range of 135-140 miles (average 118 when my gas gauge starts to flash) Would a full tank and a 5 gal jug be good for a day at the track?

Which track? Are you going in the novice group?
If it's not Road Atlanta (huge incredibly fast straight) and you're in Novice then I would say 5 gallons+a full tank should be fine on your 620 for a day.

Re: Racing a Monster
I will be going to Thunderhill in Northern California, with Zoom Zoom Track Days. And yes, I'll be in the novice group. I've been on that track in BMW cars and it felt small, I know it will feel like an ocean on a motorcycle. Thank you.
