Steve, The 796 are tapered fat bars, unless you have 7/8 somehow. Let me know.

I have two of them that are taken off the new bikes to be replaced with rizoma
and also I have one that is CF and one Renthal.
Can you post picture of your bars ??

Here is mine. It's renthal, 7/8, and a little taller than stock. I'm looking for oem height, preferable same color, and not scuffed up.

Forgive the mess, I'm in the middle of renovating that room.
