Default Right/clutch side engine cover for S4RS

I'm looking for a right side engine cover (part #243.2.038.3A) for my S4RS. The one on my bike is stained with oil and finding a used one in good shape is going to be easier than getting mine powder coated (or buying a new one for $570!!!).

This is what I'm looking for (only not crusty and beat up)

Thanks, Ian

Default Paint it!!

Get some sand paper, put some elbow grease into it, and get a can of spray paint!

I painted mine black, and then the DUCATI lettering red…looks awsome! and makes the bike unique…have not seen another like…so as far as I know I have a 1 off ;-)

It is on my S4RS, which I am currently selling…it is in the bikes for sale section just posted it today, but you can see a pix of my painted engine cover if you check out the post.

I'm not really sure why you think it would be difficult to get yours powder coated, unless you are unsure of getting the colors to match. I mean I'm lost on the statement of "finding a used one in good shape is going to be easier than getting mine powder coated". If you do get a new one, you have to remove the old one which is a hassle. Once it's removed it's only a matter of time to get yours powder coated and then reinstalled. It's the exact same amount of work. Sorry if my logic has me confused on this one. My local guy would charge me about $20 to coat that piece. Honestly I wouldn't even try to match the grey color, to save myself the disappointment of it not coming back exact, I'd have it done a bronze color and tell everyone it was the DP magnesium cover. Besides the bronze would hide future leaks better.

I ended up finding one on eBay for $45 shipped. Looks nearly brand new. I just didn't want to have to spend $25-30 to replace the clutch seal and sight glass window after spending $30-40 getting it powdercoated, plus the down time of waiting for parts. The used one came in, and I swapped the covers in about 4 hours (sanded/cleaned all clutch plates, filed teeth on basket down, changed oil).

Why don't you get your original mediablasted and powder coated and you can swap it back in when you have time. It's always good to have an extra in case of a rough track or canyon carving day.
