Kevin needs to look at the data very carefully before he jumps to conclusions on this one. There is some pretty good evidence that car drivers are the main problem. See my previous post:

Hopefully he looks at the data.
I don't feel confident.
The usual garbage will probably surface again.

err, being politicians i doubt they give a rats arse about anyone or anything besides how to get richer and stay in power a little longer! i'm expecting the usual sensational headlines that drum up an outrage and some crazy reason to tax us higher. :-\

could be like the Aboriginal Sorry speech:

We as Australians wish to apologise to generations of motorcyclists;
sorry for pulling out of the side street without looking
we are sorry for turning in front of you in the intersection
we say sorry for tailgating you because you give the driver in front a heap of room so you have an escape path

we promise to use indicators
we promise not to bully you with our 4 wheel drives
we will take driving courses and learn how to turn left from the left-turn lane

Smells like the early, lead-in 'spin' for front number plates to me. Thats how they work in the feral garment (or any of the other corrupt institutes we are forced to vote for). Step one, work up the public emotion under the guise of 'safety'. Step two, be seen to be doing something (without actually doing anything) by imposing front number plates to stop lunatic bikers speeding everywhere. Step three, reap in the revenue from speeding fines and taxes to use for more overseas trips for pollies. When the road toll doesn't change, step four - jack up the fines.

Under the front number plate thread, Ducmonrob lamented the lack of protest over this stuff. Here is my protest - I'll stand r**ted before I will stick/bolt anything to the front of my bike!

Thanks, I feel better now. Ducsport.
