Where to Watch MotoGP in Melbourne?

Hey guys. I'm in Melbourne through the middle of next week for a conference. Anyone know of a place, preferrably close to downtown, that will be showing this weeks GP?

If not, does a local channel usually show the races?

channel 10 shows the motoGP on sunday night usually. although most sports bars have fox and with stoner being so popular i'm sure you won't have any problems finding a pub to watch the race and get pissed at the same time. [thumbsup]

A mate once told me about Crown casino - apparently they have a section with massive screens that they show sport on...

since I like horsepower of a different kind of never been anywhere near this sports gambling pit though, you don't have to bet to match though...and apparently it's popular for footy cause the sceens are so big.

The All Star Cafe in the Crown Casino complex have heaps of sports channels, so it will probably be on, but the sound may be from another sports program they are showing. Actually it's been a few years since I was there, I assume it's still there.

There is a bike shop in Brighton called MotoHeaven that advertise showing the GP live. It would be about a $20 taxi ride from the City down the Nepean Highway to get there.

Where are you staying? Don't most decent hotels have Fox sports channels these days?

I was there on Friday night. You'll be lucky to see a marginalised sport such as Motogp. It will be AFL, NRL or if not, horse racing! They cater to the lowest common denominator.

I'm staying at the Quest Royal Apts. across from the Melbourne Museum. They pretty much suck. I get channels 2-9, but three of them are the same channel. :-\ The heater doesn't work either, but that's a different problem! [laugh]

Bugger, thats right, its a day race. I have a Yum Cha 2nd birthday lunch to go too. I'll have to ditch early to watch the race at another mates place >
