Show your interest in a new "Lomg Range"tank for the S4RS and S4RT Monsters
Hey guys,
Chris Kelly from Ca-cycleworks in the US is looking at developing a new 'long range' tank for the S4RS and S4RT monsters. He is already way down the track of getting the S2R and older S4R tanks in place and these tanks should be available soon.
See this thread for info:
http://www.ducatimonster.org/smf/ind...?topic=81175.0
Please let me know your interest in this.
Cheers,
R_usty

Funny you should say that I'm working on a design my self should hold aprox 3.5 ltr's but just need a EFI tank as a crash test.
so if anyone has an old plastic EFI shiter hanging around let me know.

Rusty I'm definitely interested but would want to see the final design before I commit : .....
It would have to resemble the original. Don't like the ST tank look.....
And interested in what Dockstrade might come up with....
So you could say I'm interested in any new tank but would want to see the final design / capacity before committing.... ???

Re: Show your interest in a new "Lomg Range"tank for the S4RS and S4RT Monsters
Jeez, reading back on my words last night - WOW those Drugs were good! [thumbsup]
Anyway to try and state it correctly - Chris is developing two tanks - One that already in place is the ugly one (sort of ST look) but that is for S2R and older S4R's or as Chris says - Track Bikes.
He is also looking at developing a new tank for the S4RS and S4RT's which will be modeled on the Std tank on top but will use a lot of the current airbox space for the extra fuel. May even need to change to pods and then it will need at the min. a DP ECU to adjust air/fuel mix but may even need a PC3.
On do Dock's thoughts on developing a new tank here - I have a spare S4RS tank (In new cond in Red with white stripe). I am willing to "Use" this tank if I will get a newer and bigger tank in its place - Colour is not an issue as I will get it repainted.
I am also assuming that Dockstrada is intending to increase capacity by 3.5 litres which would be fan-bloody-tastic.
Hopefully if I am out of this dam bed and back to at least walking stage by Friday (ANZAC Day) I will get a chance to chat about it with Vince and any of you guys going to Eastern Creek.
Ciao,
R_usty
(Mmmm, now where are those drugs again, I need some more pain killers.....)

Hey guys,
The note below is from Chris at Ca-Cycleworks. If you are into the new tank being a copy of the std tank but taking up the airbox spce. Follow the instructions below.

Hi SilentBob,
Thanks for writing. If folks make their promise to me, then it's ok if eti takes my idea and then charges extra for carbon. Smiley Yes, my immediate focus definitely is on the track tank. And once 22 more s4rs owners step up, we'll roll with it. And the more committed buyers up front, the lower the price can be.
My plan for the track tank is to be at most $599. If at all possible, it is my goal to get the S4Rs tank closer to that price point, but until closer to the end of the project, I won't be able to make a better estimate. Like I said though... interested parties need to e-mail to orders@ca-cycleworks.com with the subject something akin to s4rs fuel tank waiting list. Saying something on a forum isn't quite enough for me to start planning and funding the project.
Based on what I'm seeing now, I think there is enough interest to make it happen. This is the first "group" thing I've started which gathered this many "takers" so quickly. Let's please firm up the requests via e-mails so I can start looking forward, as opposed to dreaming forward. Smiley
