Default Pressure plate install help

Ok - i've been having some problems during the install of my new SpeedyMoto pressure plate and s/s springs. It's a pretty easy job but....

Have posted it in the tech section - but anyone here able to help?

This is the link to my problem posted in the TECH section

It is easy. Match the dot on the pressure plate to the spring post with the slot. The pressure plate will only fit one way.

Oh I hope this is what you are having a problem with as I didn't look at your link! [thumbsup]

Nah the alignment is fine - that's not the problem....

I can't seem to get the pressure plate to mate up hard enough against the clutch plates. The spring bolts are as tight as possible without snapping the pricks off.... >

have you done Paul's suggestion with the rubber mallet yet? he sounded like he'd done the old plate change or 10 in his life.

Make sure you let us know the outcome - some of us are yet to change a plate yet!

Best of luck - just imagine the satisfaction when you've done your own!

Yeah mate - i've tried em all!!! ???

The fitment of the pressure plate itself is really easy - cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on with this one though, and why it's not mating up correctly with the clutch plates.... >

How about a couple of pics?

I would not warrant using a malet!

I changed my plate and it slipped together with no force.

Just pull it apart, put the original parts back on and start all over again. You will work it out! [thumbsup]

Try using the old parts in the clutch with the new plate, just might be a case of elimination, check also the spring heights.
