Default Ducati looks after Oz owners

Recently I emailed Ducati about my 7 year old monster and a spark plug issue. Very quickly I got an email reply and a package of plugs.

Re-Post of my tech thread:
Folks with 750 carb monster having plug issues there is a fix avail. I emailed Ducati about my issue and what plugs I had used. I was promptly contacted back, informing me they are sending me some different spark plugs to test. The plugs arrived and my 750 monster has never hummed like it does now. So often in the past I would attempt to go for a ride and find my bike unable to start. Or worse get some place and be stranded.

Ducati sent me Champion RA8HC Ducati part number 67090061A

This is a hotter plug than RA4HC or RA6HC

Hmmmm, I've never seen any other manufacturer do that off their own bat!! [thumbsup]
In my experience if there has been a problem the factory has generally "officially" not acknowledged the it and let the dealer wear the costs to keep "Good Faith" with the customer.
It seems Ducati have a far better attitude to their supporters, good on 'em. [clap]

With some Marques maybe the sticking point sometimes is the Importer and not the factory maybe????

Did you email Ducati in Italy or NFI (the local importer)?

Ita - this was posted 1st of April - I'm sensing it's an April Fools joke mate - it's all in there in the title - anyone that's had the slightest contact with our esteemed importer can see it's a joke - would surprise me they would care about warranty spark plug issue - let alone some bloke with a 2000 model!

It MAY be real Ita, but a just took it as a joke....I mean one employee couldn't pronounce Ducati Corse properly, so I took it as humor!

No April fools joke NFI was very quick in responding to me. I wish I had brought my problem up sooner. As the bike has not failed me.

Here is the email I had from them:

I remember a service bulletin from Ducati to cure plug fouling on 600M but this advised to fit RA8HC Champion plugs. So working on the theory that 8 is hotter than 6 then 6 should be hotter than 4 but this makes no sense if as you say the RA4HC works better in your bike, confused ??? I am.

I am sending you a pair of RA8HC plugs for you to try in your bike all you have to do is give me a report if they are better or worse. Then we will both know for future reference.

Best Rgds
Shaun Sutcliffe
