Default Photo Stopper - Licence Plate - Radar / Photo deterrant

Hi fellow Aussie Ducati Monster riders,

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the spray you can put on your licence plate or the covers?

I know they are illegal but was just wondering from a scientific point of view...

I would be interested in getting some of the spray or a cover purely for experimental lab testing.... if I could get some in Australia. Anyone out there able to help?

Bret

Mythbusters tied all these deterrents. The only one that worked was to surround your license plate with a mirror about 4' square...... ;D

Also Top Gear found that you had to do 173mph (277kph) before you could "out run" a speed camera...... olice:

But would love you prove them wrong.... [thumbsup]

I say go the fast tags. Or get a LCD screen made up that you can turn on to blur the plate.

Fellow rider tried it ... pinged by a camera car two weeks later returning from the GP.

One of the editions of the Ulysses mag (Riding On? 2006 I think) had a review of all the possible tricks, including the spray. None of them worked except the reflective perspex cover that can be fitted over the plate - and it is apparently illegal.

I um, er, know someone who knows someone who's brother has a friend with the perspex fitted - so far no speed photos but it does not really seem to make much difference - I have um, er, seen it and taken photos with my camera and the plate is still readable in the photo..... [cheeky]

The old saying of "a fool and his money are soon parted" once again applies to me. I got completely sucked into all the promotional c$%p on their website and purchased some of the spray from the US. Oh well looks like I have another useless thing to add to my collection, there is still some room on the shelf just next to the herbal hair tonic that was guaranteed to cure my baldness, and the tablets that were for added inches in the other part of the body... [thumbsup]. The is a sucker born everyday as I am living proof. [laugh]
