Default My first Bear Mt. run

;D ;D ;D that is the short version
The long version: I managed to get out this afternoon around 2:30pm with no real destination in mind and just kindda decided to go to Bear Mt. Ever since getting a bike last year I've been wanting to make the trip. Wow, what a great ride. I was alone but it was cool cause I really got to get into a zone.
Being a new rider I wasn't into the super fast thing I was concentrating on form. Man I had a blast, getting step up before the turns, weighting the outside peg, paying attention to what the suspension was doing, wow so much going on.
Once I was up there what a view both of the valley and the the parking lot. Harley's, BMW's, there was a beautiful 1098s and an amazing black Augusta MV, a couple of Duc's ST4's and a ton of other bikes. Overall not a bad time considering I was watching the Legend of Billie Jean before I decided to head out.
If anyone was out there I was the guy on a yellow 620, I was only there long enough to strech my legs and neck before I headed back into the city. Can't wait til my next trip up, hopefully it will be with a few DMLers.

bear mt is great
it's good that you took it easy up there ( i need to )
some of the twisting don't have any guard rails and is a dead drop off
but other than that the place is nice
congrats on having fun up there
and next time you plan on visiting bear Mt give me a buzz I'll tag along

i hear you about not being into the super fast thing...i really have to work on the form thing as well. that's awesome you took the run by yourself. i'm still a noob who hasn't been able to do long runs alone. i'm still working on building up the confidence for independent riding. short city jaunts i can do no problem...it's the highways that make me nervous. :-\ anyway, thanks for the inspiration! and there sure is a great view from up there. [thumbsup]

Let me tell you I commute in the city all week, it was actually nice not having to dodge yellow cabs and buses.

I'll give you a shout next time the Legend of Billie Jean is on and I get inspired to run up to Bear MT. Maybe we could plan a ride up there for the busy people out there, it seems like a great short ride for those weekends when you need to be back in the city early due to wife/kids/work or whatever.

There is a Duc dealer up there on 9W just outside of West Point.
