Default moving to Canada

Just thinking out loud and asking questions. Is it difficult to move to Canada? I'm referring to vehicles and my cat really. I'm thinking it's a little more involved than moving to a new state but to what extent I haven't a clue. So can anyone give me some quick insight/advice

I'm asking because a job is available in Calgary that interests me and it puts me closer to the mountains than I currently am. I don't even know if I can apply as a US citizen or if it's only for Canadians. It just got the wheels in my head turning, and before I got in over my head, I figured I'd ask.

Thanks

Wink here's something that might help

Being a Canadian I'd say the first thing you should do is read this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp. It's the Canadian Gov's answer to immigrating. The real in depth answer to your question is no doubt a complicated one. Your cat will likely need all it's shots and verification of them. Your future employer (if they're willing) may sponser you? It's hard to just move here and live/work as it is to the USA but there's a loophole so to speak as a skilled worker/professional. I'm trying not to go on and on as I don't know the answers but I think that link will answer most of the initial questions you may have if not all.

Shame you're not coming to Ontario. That'd be one more person to ride with

If you have any skills associated with the mining industry, move to Australia. Experienced tradesmen are earning up to $250K out west. Downsides are that it shall be a trifle warmer than Canada, no mountains (you may get to enjoy the endless sweeping desert) and odds-on you'll have to lose the moggie.

I'm in the oil industry Boydie. Sure wouldn't mind 250k a year though.

Have a look at offshore rigs on the north west coast of Oz...big, big bucks there, too. Bloody long way from everything, though.

I've sworn off flying, lol. I thought I might go overseas with this job but I just don't want to do the flying thing. So I'm staying on this continent. Luckily it's rather large
