I got in over a week ago from Industrial_Grrrl, two Gremlin Bells (one for each bike) and an awesome shirt from The Bronx Zoo. She also sent me a complete set of triples for my 998 that she had laying around. It's cool to be thought of even when you're hundreds of miles away !. I think Michelle thinks I need all the help I can get riding, and from the animals on my shirt, she thinks I'm a dog [laugh] [laugh]. Meeting people and chatting on this forum is my daily routine, and frankly I don't know what I'd do without it. Everyday I learn something new just lurking around the forum, and also something going on in another members life. it's like a cool tv series that gets continued everyday. Love it [thumbsup]. the Gremlin bells drive the "Gremlins" away by trapping the gremlins in the hollow of the bell and dropping them in the roadway. It also says that if the bell was given to you that the bell has double the powers ;D. thanks Michelle now I have to pick a member to pay it forward to................ :
ZAGREB - Croatian MMA fighter in his home in Zagreb heals the consequences of his hard defeat on Saturday against the Brazilian fighter Gabriel Gonzaga at the UFC 70 in Manchester. The shocking images of Cro Cop laying in the middle of the cage fainted seemed unreal because of the reversed roles we are used to see in the last few years.
Similar experience Filipovi? did have against Kevin Randleman (in PRIDE) and Michael McDonald (in K-1). From both fighters he lost to a KO and both times he managed to get at the top. Al thou his charisma got seriously damaged in Manchester, Mirko is saying he has the motive and strength for a new rise to the top.
Nothing is broken
Are you feeling any consequences for your health?
There are no headaches, nor any other visible after effects of Gonzagas high-kick. If there was no pain in my right ancle I would've been long in training by now. Because of that, there's 2 weeks of passive rest for me now. The ancle is swallen, but I think there's nothing broken because I wouldn't be able to walk in that case. Nevertheless, I'll be going to a doctor for some examinations.
You were looking distracted in the ring?
I was not myself against Gonzaga. I just couldn't decide to start a series of strikes, I didn't go forward. Something similar happened in my last fight against Sanchez in Las Vegas, but I managed to win that fight. These kind of things happen to me in regular intervals. Nevertheless, there's no excuse for this defeat, no alibi, nor am I seeking one.
What was crucial for that kind of a lose?
Gonzaga's elbow strikes in my temple were the main thing. When I stud back up, my perspective was faded and i didn't even see that high-kick.
Were the preparations wrong?
The preparations for the fight were perfect and that isn't the problem. Just before the fight I was in a bad mood, I couldn't focus, I fought without any strategy.
What's your future in the UFC?
I'll be back even stronger. This is not the time to speak of the UFC belt, but I will respect the contract to it's end. Of course, in the case there will not be any new injuries. Al thou, I don't know what could make me fight once i fulfill my contract of four more fights.
When could your next fight happen?
I believe I will fight at the end of August or the beginning of September. I am expecting a rematch against Gonzaga. I would like to thank everyone who came to Manchester because of me and everyone who called to express their best wishes. I had more than 200 calls and i couldn't answer them all.
Dana White: Cro Cop’s Camp Wanted to “Milk” Contract
Posted by UFC Junkie on April 24, 2007 at 8:46 am ET
Newly acquired UFC heavyweight and former PRIDE champion Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s camp wanted to “milk” the fighter’s contract by putting off a title shot, which led to his upset loss to Gabriel Gonzaga at this past weekend’s UFC 70 event, according to UFC president Dana White.
White made the statement to a reporter for an latimes.com story published last night.
According to the report, it wasn’t the UFC’s sole decision to delay Filipovic’s potential title shot with UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture. In fact, White said the decision came from Filipovic’s camp, which wanted to draw out the contract — probably in hopes that the fighter could score a lucrative contract renewal if he became champion.
From latimes.com:
If a promotion holds off on a marketable fight with the mentality of building up both fighters, one or both may lose and the proposed fight goes out the window. That is what happened with Cro Cop, and White suggests that the decision to have Cro Cop face Gonzaga was as much Cro Cop’s decision as UFC’s.
“Cro Cop’s guys wanted to have a couple fights before they fought Randy Couture. And to be honest with you I think they wanted the fights to milk the contract.”
By defeating Filipovic, Gonzaga instead earned the title shot, which is expected to take place in August at UFC 73.
Although Filipovic recently stated that he suffered no serious damage from the KO head kick — or the subsequent collapse and bending of his knee, ankle and foot — little information has been available in regards to his future plans. A recent report stated that the Croatian would fulfill the remaining four fights on his UFC contract and then retire, but there’s been no official word from the UFC.
Said White:
“No idea. I don’t even know what he wants to do next. I’ll have to talk to his people, see what he’s thinking, see where his head is, no pun intended.
“I think he needs to go out and fight a big name guy. Gonzaga’s an awesome fighter but nobody knew who he was.”

Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s UFC 70 Injuries Limited to Ligament Damage
Posted by UFC Junkie on April 23, 2007 at 4:24 pm ET
UFC heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic sustained no substantial damage during his brutal knockout loss to Gabriel Gonzaga at Saturday’s UFC 70 event, according to various reports.
Filipovic, a former PRIDE Fighting Championships fighter and champion, was acquired by the UFC earlier this year and posted a successful TKO victory over Eddie Sanchez in his debut at UFC 67 in February. He entered Saturday’s event, which took place at Manchester, England, as a large favorite over Gonzaga but lasted less than one round with the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt fighter.
After suffering nearly three minutes of ground and pound, and absorbing a major cut along his hairline, Filipovic was tagged with a sickening high leg kick in the round’s final seconds. The blow instantly knocked him unconscious. As he fell to the canvas, the Croatian’s right leg got caught underneath him, and his knee, ankle and foot were bent backward in a horrifyingly unnatural position as he lay motionless in the Octagon.
Not until referee Herb Dean stopped the fight and removed Gonzaga from the vicinity was Filipovic’s leg untucked from under him.
Despite the apparent carnage, Filipovic stated to foreign reporters that he only suffered some ligament damage to his right foot.
With all things considered, the report was a surprising — and comforting — bit of news.

While on the topic, I wanted to point out a report Zach Arnold posted today at FightOpinion.com about Gonzaga.
With his win on Saturday, the Brazilian ran his UFC record to 4-0. However, during his initial foray into the UFC, Gonzaga picked up a completely unspectacular KO victory over Kevin Jordan at UFC 56. He was widely criticized for the effort, and the performance has dogged him even to this day.
However, as Arnold recounts, Gonzaga was actually dealing with a much bigger concern: the health of his wife and two unborn babies. The life-or-death situation took its toll on Gonzaga, and the aftermath weighed heavily on him during the fight.
As Gonzaga told Arnold:
My wife was five months pregnant with twins and these would be our first two kids. We discovered that one of the children nearly died and that the other child was at risk of dying, putting my wife’s life at risk as well. We moved immediately to Rio de Janeiro, where we would have more hospital support and the support of my wife’s parents. The situation was growing more [desperate] and I couldn’t let my wife be alone in this tough moment. With seven months of pregnancy gone by, we had to make an emergency child birth. God reserved a place on his side to one of my daughters (Leticia) and he gave us the gift of a beautiful girl named Isabela (who stayed in the incubator for a month and five days to gain some weight)…
With all of this taking place, I arrived in Massachusetts 12 days prior to the UFC 56 fight and I didn’t have the time to prepare properly. I couldn’t tell the organizers and promoters of UFC (who trusted my potential) that I would have to cancel 10 days before the show. I couldn’t let this opportunity of showing my talent to the UFC fans slip away.
You can — and should — read the full story at FightOpinion.com.
It’ll give you a whole lot more appreciation for a fighter who gets a title shot with UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture in August.
Dana White Validates UFCjunkie.com Report of St. Pierre vs. Koscheck
Posted by UFC Junkie on April 23, 2007 at 11:40 am ET
After getting reports from both fighters’ camps, UFCjunkie.com reported last week that former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) would likely face rising contender Josh Koscheck (8-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in his next UFC bout.
Our report took one step closer to fruition over the weekend when UFC president Dana White stated that he predicts the St. Pierre vs. Koscheck fight will, in fact, happen.
The Fight Network reported the possibility today:
White announced that [Matt] Serra will join Matt Hughes as a competing coach on the next season of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series — which begins shooting this Spring for a Fall broadcast — and predicted that St. Pierre would likely face Josh Koscheck in the interim.
The fight is expected to take place in August at UFC 74, which will feature a main event of UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga. Gonzaga earned the title shot by upsetting Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic over the weekend at UFC 70.
Although that heavyweight battle will earn top billing, the St. Pierre-Koscheck could be just as big of a draw with two of the organization’s most popular fighters.
St. Pierre lost his belt during his first-ever title defense earlier this month to Matt Serra at UFC 69. At the same event, Koscheck scored an upset of bitter rival Diego Sanchez to move him into the list of top-five UFC welterweights.
