How much should I offer for this truck?
So I'm in the market for a truck and pretty much have zeroed in on a used Tacoma.. I wanted to spend less than 10K, but then this one caught my eye....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...187724214&rd=1
Is it not badass? and it matches my silver S2R perfectly. Too bad the buy it now price is a ridiculous 15k. I was hoping to buy my truck from a private seller which is almost always cheaper, but I may make an exception for this, and I doubt I'll see another one like it anytime soon.
I'm thinking offering 12.5 or so for it, which is pretty close to the blue book retail value for this truck in perfect condition. Or calling the dealer about it later.
thoughts?

It all comes down to how much you want it.
12,500 sounds reasonable to me.

Got Duc has spoken!
12.5 it is. If they don't want it, tough shit.

I'm surprised that it's still on a dealer's lot. Usually that generation Tacoma is sold within hours of hitting the lot. :
My dad recently sold his '01 Tacoma Double Cab 4X4 in Michigan for $12.5K.

Yeah I've found out that Tacomas really hold their value. But I am determined to score a good deal on one.
hopefully soon, as it is cold and wet down here and this braving the elements shit is getting old, fast.

of course they did, that's what brought it to the point where someone had to say it

Re: How much should I offer for this truck?
Personally I think 15k is a bit much for a 2002 truck with almost 90k miles. But it is super clean, at least on the outside. I have a black 2001 with 70k miles with the same exact packages that I've been considering trading in for a Titan or Tundra. The problem is my Tacoma is paid off and I have to say, we have been through a lot together. That truck is so proficient off-road it isn't funny. I have never been stuck in all my years of desert wheelin' and have pulled trucks out twice my size and power. Bottom line, if you get the truck you probably won't be sorry.
