Re: DEATH PROOF
Just rented Planet Terror. I'm very excited to start it! From what I hear, Death Proof is the lesser of the two...

Re: DEATH PROOF
I liked Death Proof better too. It was truer to the drive-in movie type genre they were supposed to be creating. It's marred on DVD, however, because they added about 10 minutes of worthless Tarantino dialogue. That's ironic because he's known for great dialogue but he's lost it. 20 year old kids generally don't recite pop movie, television and music references to 50s and 60s obscurities. But Tarantino's characters do. They open their mouths and out comes Tarantino nerd speak.
The saving grace is the car chases/crashes. Haven't seen anything like them since the snuff film in Driver's ed class. Kurt Russell is really good in it too.

Re: DEATH PROOF
it was ok, but it was pretty boring for a while.
i wasn't impressed by the acting in the first half of it.
the second half with the car chase kept my attention though.
how can it be better than a chick with a machine gun leg though? [cheeky]

Re: DEATH PROOF
Most people that didn't like Death Proof didn't know what he was going after.
But even a fair number of people who knew what he was going after think he missed the mark a little bit.
I thought it was alright. Worth watching.
Planet Terror was better.

Re: DEATH PROOF
Just watched it last night. Aside from the one endless dialogue scene at the table, I loved it. The final chase was riveting and Kurt Russel was awesome.

Re: DEATH PROOF
+1 on too much nerd babble.... usually at the most inoportune moment causing me to lose focus on the movie. I did like it though..... Planet Terror was better IMO.
BTW, Rose McGowan is SMOKIN HAWT!!

Re: DEATH PROOF
I enjoyed the majority of it, much more than Planet Terror. Once the driving got going, I was glued.
