Default Speed traps. Location only no rants.

Hey everyone thought this could be a useful thread. Everyone lets keep in mind the rules with NO COP TALK! Simply state location and frequency of sighting. DDGM if this is to close to skirting the rules I'm sorry and by all means take it down. I just thought it could be useful as I read Hypers post which I am stealing and placing over here.

When you get off at the Tijeras exit and go past the off ramp hill, as you come down to the street level (Old 66 )there is almost always a cop way up at the light pointing a radar gun at the off ramp hill. The speed goes from 45 to 30 in no time. Every weekend there usually is a smokey there!!!! I think it is also a double fine zone back up on the highway. Also there are usually cops on the highway near the exit too looking for guys like Hyper & Kawtown who are going 2 or 3 times the legal limit, speed limit that is...!!!

Whatwat!!!! We're not supposed to talk cop talk? Have I been breaking the rules on the other thread??? You mean no cop BASHing? I wasn't, I swear. That cop was actually pretty cute, but too young, as usual. Then again, the window widens all the time. 8) ;D > Lance!!!!!!! Sorry for the thread jack. I will try to stay on task.

I live in Bosque Farms, south of ABQ on Highway 47 (I'm new to the forum and to my monster and to riding - got it in November - love this forum and love the bike) and let me just say DO NOT SPEED in Bosque Farms. I got pulled over. He was really nice - didn't give me a ticket, but that was sheer luck... or was it...."Maam, why did you do that at that intersection?" - meaning why did I go 0-70 as fast as I possibly could... "Officer, sir, I just got the bike and it's so fast it just kind of took off.... " (tears welling up at this point - OK, not really, but if it meant getting out of ticket I'd have worked up a couple boo hoos). Yeah, like going 70 in a 45 is an "accident". I think he just wanted to check out the bike - guy has good taste for sure. But it's definitely a speed trap all through Bosque Farms on Highway 47. I have stayed under 50 since then.

Welcome "Ducatijen"! Thanks for the speed trap tip. The possee rides that way with some frequency, either going to Las Lunas or coming back from Belen. Come meet the group at Duc night.

You're fortunate the cop was not female or it would have been, "Right sweety. Here's your ticket." Like Hyper said, we've been through there several times, got some hard stares but haven't been stopped . . . yet.
Welcome aboard here. Keep your eye on the posts and join us any time for a ride.

We saw so many cops on the Bernallio-Santa Fe-Cedar Crest loop today. Mostly from Cedar Crest to Tramway, but there must have been at least eight, including the one on the stretch where I got my warning last weekend. Looked like the same kid even, glad we got some warning flashes from cagers. We were all holding it down through that stretch anyway.
