Anyone in NMMR from Southern NM? I'm originally from Silver City/Las Cruces but have been living in SF and Houston for the last 15 years. The area around Silver City (Pinos Altos, the Mimbres) has got some great roads to explore.

I'm from Albuquerque and have traveled through the Black Range (sad to say in a car) many times and wished I was on a motorcycle. You have to watch out for elk and deer in the early morning and evening hours. I think you will enjoy this stretch of road from Silver City to Truth or Consequences.

Is that the road that comes out at I-25 near Hillsboro? I've been that way in a vehicle a few times, but didn't want to suffer the interstate to get there. One of these days I'll hit the good roads in AZ and route back through the Silver City area. [thumbsup]

Yes, that's the one. This will get you on SR 152 through ancient Apache hideout country and ends north of Bayard, NM.
