when i used to ride moto back in the 80's and 90's, people used to string up piano wire across our trails in monroe and newtown ct. we used to ride to the dadarios gravel pit with our heads below the handle bars. one time my friend matt caught one and it peeled the paint off of the top of his bell moto 4 helmet!

sorry about the story but this thread took me down memory lane.

What a dumb prank......All dangerousness aside, c'mon man!! : I thought the "drag the fake cat across the street on fishing line in front of oncoming traffic" gag was the greatest thing since sliced bread when I pioneered that in my hometown in 6th Grade......19 years later, I feel like the whole "Things Draped Across Roadways Prank Scene" has become very stale and uninventive....I mean Zipties?!?! Ya gotta be more creative than that!!!! >

:P :-* :P

No Seriously.......What kind of a d-bag thinks to link zipties across a road.... I call personal vendetta against someone who what expected to travel down that raod at a specific time (via bike obviously) that was not liked so much by ziptie-guy...... :-\

There was a "crackdown" not too long ago by the Newtown police. The attempt was to stop quads and bikes from using the pit. They weren't successful, and there are more bikes than ever there now.

On topic: Some folks just aren't too bright, eh? It's amazing they've made it this far!

wow, you must live around there i guess. i was there in the hey day of moto. way back when there was no stop and shop on rt 25 and we used to climb the big dune. which has now been replaced with a parking lot. it was so cool. i stopped by daddario about a three years ago. it was all grown over and devoid of life. when i was there the was a new moto bike or quad or even atc riding the pits. it was one of my favorite times growing up. i was one of the original old school riders in those pits. it was fun.

Long live the 250r!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep ... I can see the S&S, and Daddario from my home during the winter.

Every day "younglings" come rippin' by my house on their quads and dirtbikes, as they go from one pit/trail network to the next. Most weekends I can hear them ripping up the gravel pits.

Good times. (Well, when there are no hunters back behind one of the pits....)

i often return to ct and ride with some friends in the north west part of the state. the last time i was down i was going to take a ride down buttonshop rd. but i passed it and didn't want to turn around so i continued down toddy hill on my way to woodbury. next time i am going to the area i let you know. its always fun to ride with other monster riders.

sorry its been so long since i have replied, i was banned for a bit.
