Default A Show of Hands (Montreal!)

I'm planning a trip to montreal, no exact date yet. It won't happen till it warms up a bit.
I'm thinking leave on a friday morning, come back sunday.
Who's got some interest? Who's got knowledge of riding up there?
I'm still going even if no one wants to, but it certainly would be more enjoyable to ride up with some of you jerks.

Crumar, let me know the dates and I'll try to make it. I would even be willing to leave a day earlier and make it Thurs-Sun trip if that's in the cards...

I'm in, I just need plenty of advance notice so I can request the time off.

Only time I know I won't be able to is the 2nd week of May. Having my 24k mile service done.

I'm gonna suggest two possible dates now:

May 22-25...I'm guessing this date will be too soon?...but i wanted to try anyway in case there is some interest and general feeling of a need to 'get away' after such a long winter. and,

July 24-27...I have been researching online and asking people i know about things to do, where to stay, where to ride...if anyone can offer any such suggestions it would certainly be appreciated. I've found a few interesting hotels:

www.abri-voyageur.ca/english/accueil.html
cost- from $60-90 canadian

www.a2khotel.com
cost- around $70 canadian

www.casteldurocher.com
cost- about $119 canadian

...just ideas on these hotels, of course....i'm open to hostels or motels too.

But most importantly...do these dates work for anyone?...

July works better for me and I can sleep pretty much anywhere.

I like the idea of spending a couple of days, too.

Hey guys and gals,

When you setup your ride be sure to let us know, we'll organize a get together with some of our club members for a beer. Our local forum is here: http://www.ducatimonster.org/smf/index.php?board=33.0

If you want to do some nice rides, I suggest the roads around Mont Tremblant (route 327 is my personal favourite, you take route 148 off the West Island and ride to Lachute, then north on the 327 to Mont Tremblant. Good day's ride, some sections are boring and occasionally gravel strewn but it's the best you'll find near Montreal, certain parts of the 327 are amazing). I'd say take it easy if you do go for some rides - cops are not sympathetic to bikes up here, and the roads can be dangerous (bad drivers, gravel, rough spots).

Keep in mind the F1 weekend is June 6-7-8, so unless you want to see the races it's not a great time to come. Traffic is bad, hotels are booked / charge more.

I live in downtown, on Saint Laurent, so I'd be happy to show you around the city.

Keep us posted! Happy riding.
