DMV Requirements in MASS (or other parts of NE...)

if a guy was relocating to NE, what should he be on the lookout for when going to register his monster?

That is has vin numbers on it that match and atleast looks like it's all legal. I heard a guy at my license test say you have to have a rear fender on your bike or you can get sent home with no plates but I don't believe it. I'm sure it's the same as anywhere

I'm not sure what the requirements in [cheeky]Nebraska [cheeky] (NE) are..... here in MA I had no issues with my bike. And my tail is chopped big time.

Make sure you have blinkers both front and rear, horn, and a plate light ( I failed for that one) and at least one mirror, other than that you are golden...

haha, got me. i forgot to use the periods N.E.

ok, so....

Quat D x-box = ok
Tail chop = ok
Bar end mirrors = ok
Missing emissions canister = ok (of course it does... only the left coast cares)
plate light = ok, i think

Blinkers... do you think they would be cool with integrated type rear blinkers (aka clear alternatives integrated LED/blinker mod)?

there are a ton of bikes on the road here in MA with those... so I don't see a problem. Again...this is in MA...I don't know about Maine.

In NH they make a big deal about DOT approved lighting.

I hear VT is the same.

In NH you are not even supposed to move the directionals from the stock location.
licence plates must be in the stock location as well, no plates in front of the rear tire.
exhaust Db level of 106 measures @ 2800 rpm and a 45degree angle from the exhaust tip. 17 inches away I believe.

Oh and make sure the ape hangers are not too tall.

Is inspection the same in NH as MA?

In MA I get an inspection from my friendly Duc dealer. So everything *cough* passes. :

Do you guys have a registry cop doing the inspections?
