Default Homemade bath and body products

I am going to make little gift bags for all my female friends this year and need ideas for them. I have thought of making bath bombs (balls of smelly goodness that fizz and dissolve in the water) and maybe homemade lotion.

Have you guys made stuff like this? If so, what did you make? Any other ideas would be appreciated!

This is a great idea. I have no money for gifts and am baking bread for everyone.

I like the bath gift idea. I do not know how to make any of that. Is is hard? I love to bubble!

So far I've just done research on the bath bombs, but they seem fairly easy, you just have to work quickly to avoid drying them out. I've heard the most expensive ingredients for these are the citric acid and the fragrance. But you could get 2-3 girls together to pitch in and have a bath bomb party. I would do that, but I don't have many girl friends so it wouldn't be much of a party. :-)

I found a couple links. This one has a lot of organic ingredients for soap and other bath products, and they seem pretty reasonably priced. This is the best and easiest recipe I have found for the bath bombs, I'll be using it when I make mine. I just have to find a mold.

I'm still on the prowl for lotion/body butter or bubble bath recipes. I'll post here when I find some.

Cookie mix in a jar always looks nice :

homemade candles are easy, and sometimes you can re-use the jars from candles you've burned down.

Some of the retirement homes have bazaars. Yeah, you find all the yucky crocheted yarny looking things, but someimes you find bird houses, handmade lace collars, and really cool items at less than the mall (and 100% of the money goes to the person who made it!!). Keeps the money in the community, and helps a lost art stay alive.

I bought a soap making kit for my kid sister last year and actually had a blast making these fun little soaps. I got all the stuff at Hobby Lobby and you can buy molds, scents, cocoa butter, etc. They come out pretty nice, although I recommend some of the pretty rose shaped molds and not the Sponge Bob Square pants that my 8 yr old sis demanded.

Also, they sell all the essential oils for scents and such at whole foods. Jasmine and Vanilla are key.

Hope that helps!
