Default What will your thanksgiving table look like?

Yes yes, it's not ducati related. But, we women don't connect enough on the MW board, we need to get talkin'!

That being said:

Will your Thanksgiving table look like this year? Are you decorating at all?

My table will be as follows (if I can get everything together in time...):

3 Hurricane glasses with several leaves gingerly placed inside in a row
Small tan votive candles in between glasses
Brown table cloth, with sheer white or tan runner
Pressed leaves underneath the sheer runner
Red plates
Linen napkins folded and stuffed in wine glasses
Gum tree spurs (the little spiky balls that are everywhere this time of year) with little nametags attached with a ribbon on each plate.

I hope it turns out well, I'm not the creative martha stewart type, although sometimes I wish I was!

My day will be spent watching my mother in law drink to much. She then talks to much. Then we all ignore her in hopes that she will shut up.

I am making thanksgiving for 4 at home on Saturday. No fancy table setting, but the food will all be homemade and good. Turkey, dressing, potato's, green beans, brussel sprouts, soup, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce all made by me. I can't wait.

Mmmm that sounds yummy.

I am hosting my first thanksgiving at my place for my family. Maybe that's why I'm getting into it.

I'm working but doing Thanksgiving on Friday. We have all the old stand by stuff but will be having a vegetarian. Anybody have a good veggie side dish (no green beans, cauliflower or hot tomatoes) We are a bit of a picky bunch. I hope everyone has a great day(s)

I'm cooking all day and I can't wait! I love Thanksgiving! I'll have the bloody mary's on stand-by all day (gotta keep the chef happy )

I'm brining a turkey and making the typical mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, brussel sprouts, corn casserol (if my step-mom shares the recipe), cranberries (scratch, no can). For dessert Pecan Pie and Apple Pie with Bourbon cream.

The table will have the Turkey as the centerpiece but I will have my Tiffany Candle sticks with gold candles to go with the white and gold china.

I'll take pics and post up! ;D

This thread is making me hungry!!

I'm a little aprehensive about cooking for my family for the first time. I experiemented with making homemade cranberry sauce and it turned out really well. I'm actually going to stuff the turkey with the stuffing, hopefully I don't kill anyone.

The Tiffany candle sticks sound great!

The first time I made Thanksgiving for my in-laws I caught the marshmallow topping on the sweet potatoes on fire. So you just remember that while your cooking, surely you wont give them such fond memories like I did. [laugh]
