Default Track day suit for curvy women?

Hey everyone, this is my first post, I've been lurking for a while, but after lookin through all the threads on gear (ok, maybe just two :P) , I need some help. I'm thinking about doing my first track day ;D ! But I need a track suit of some sort...I have a lot of trouble just finding jeans to fit my "shapely" hips. I'm 5'4" and 140ish lbs. And yes, I carry it all in my butt and legs, yay me. Anyone out there like me have any luck?

Hi and welcome!

I feel your pain in trying to find gear. I'm around a 16/18 which is virtually impossible to find. My best bets for a more curvy figure are the Tourmaster LNX jacket or the Joe Rocket jet set.

Tourmaster LNX

http://www.amazon.com/TOURMASTER-COR.../dp/B000OM37M2
It comes in a wide range of sizes, a few other colors, has a full zip and good armour. This is the jacket that I'm getting and it fits curves really well. They have pants that zip to it, i have to get the mens though because the womens are too small. I've tried it and they work, a little too long but I can fix that easily.

Joe Rocket Jet Set

http://www.helmetshop.com/itemMatrix...=&MatrixType=1
I really like the way this jacket fits but it does not have a full zip. I considered have a zipper added, It should be fairly easy to do. I decided on the tourmaster instead. Joe Rocket offers a women track pant called the Roxie which has a full zip.

Alpinestars Julie suit.

http://femmotogear.homestead.com/ALPINESTARS_JULIE.html
I haven't personally tried this but I've talked to women who looooove it. I tends to think Alpinestars gear fits slimmer women better but I've been told that this one is different. Check out the link at Femmotogear, they have pictures of the suit on real women that are different sizes.

Good luck shopping!

I know what you mean about curves! I've had a hard time finding a jacket which comfortably accommodates my rack, while allowing free arm movement and not making me look boxy. I currently have an Alpinestars textile jacket (http://www.ridegear.com/rg/item/F-11...o-Jackets.html). I'm hoping Santa Claus will bring me the Rev'it Women's Allure jacket (http://www.motostrano.com/realwoleja.html), which is way out of my price range at the moment.

maybe we can post photos of ourselves in our gear, with a write up of what manufacturers we are wearing including size. As well as a photo of us in street clothes to give us a better idea since all of us come in different sizes, to help show what fits well for others looking to purchase leathers? (I would be more apt to do this is the guys stayed out of this forum, but hopefully everyone else isn't as self-conscious as me (I'm fat)) ;D

Hmm... well... I have set of partial zip together (just the 8" back zipper) Frank thomas "leiah" leathers in size... UK 8 / 36 or something like that. I did velcro in a spine guard, as they didn't have a pocket for one.

http://www.frank-thomas.co.uk/index....category_id=11

I got them basically "new" off craigslist for a good price early spring of this year when I decide I was going to do the MSF and go for some 2-up rides with friends, it wasn't until some time later that i read some of the negative reviews about their track suits blowing out during crashes. My hope is that they protect me better than jeans Frank Thomas seems to have one of the largest "ranges" of sizes in gear designed for hourglass (womanly) figures..

http://web.mac.com/ljjames/homepage/...bble_head.html

I also have a set of Joe Rocket ballistic rain gear that works well, but it is NOT flattering in the slightest and I can't figure out what kind of flat butt, broad shouldered girl they designed it for OH wait! They just made it for a boy, but smaller! It's okay tho, I'm able to put lots of insulation on under it...

I've replaced any 'foam' with real hard CE approved armor. it makes it a bit less comfy at first, but as the leather breaks in and softens up, pretty soon you don't even notice it. Also when you are in 'riding' position as opposed to walking position the armor slides into the right place... (as do the gussets and things for the boobs and such) According to a friend of mine (tall curvey woman) who had custom leathers done years ago, unfortunately many companies are going for sitting at the coffee shop or pub "style" as opposed to how it will fit when you are tucked on the bike. So my pants waist seem high and the jacket seems short, but the minute i'm on the bike, well, it's perfect.

FWIW, from what I can tell by asking around, everyone feels like a sausage in their leathers the first few times... it's amazing how different it feels after the first stages of break-in have passed.

I like the looks of their Chloe waterproof gear... they actually look comfortable!

I borrowed an Alpinestars suit from a friend of mine for my first track day. It was extremely comfy. I'm errrrrr... rather chesty and have a fairly narrow waist for the size of my hips and tush, but still wear size 8 jeans. I'm not sure what style suit it was, but it was a 2 piece.

I'm right there with you ladies. I have a tiny waist, big ol butt and thighs and a giant rack.

This is good info, as I've been searching for a track suit that will fit as well.

Although since I have a little on on the way, my belly is only going to get bigger. So I'll need to wait until after October, and then after I lose the baby weight.

Here's a couple pics of the Dainese jacket I got back in July. (Keep in mind, I posed in just the right way that it flattered my body, heh heh, you can't really see the big butt and thighs).

the second one is a little less flattering...

Girl, show off the big butt and thighs! And congrats!

Just a warning to us curvy girls, the Icon leather Bombshell pants don't seem to fit those of us with nice behinds and powerful thighs. I'm going to try their Bombshell chaps to see if those fit better around the thigh.

The Ballistic 5.0 pants seem to be a very good fit so far. The waist fits well and doesnt gap and the thigh area isnt too constricting. They're a little long for my stumpy legs but overall I like them. I'll post up some pics as well.

I do want to find a pair of comfortable leather pants for riding around in and also a track suit that fits.
