Default Help! - Long slim jacket fits.

Ok, since the cat is out of the bag and doesn't seem to fit right it's time to find more help.

I picked up a jacket as a surprise for my gal, since she's expressed an on going interest in learning to ride. I want her to be safe, hence the jacket.

Thanks to a DML'er I got a good deal on a ladies Vanson (size 8 ) jacket. Circumference wise, it's a pretty good fit. Perhaps 1/2 size too large, but what can you do.

The problems seem to be lengths. Arms could use another 1/2"-1" and the torso could use another 1+" as well.

So, I'm looking for suggestions for gear companies that either, make womens long sizes, or have slimmer cuts in the torso (idea being going up a size to gain some length).

Asking around locally, BMW gear was suggested. And I know from my own trials that A* cuts slimly. But ladies, if you have suggestions of brands or items to look at - any help would be appreciated.

I'm not large by any means, but my proportions tend to be on the long/lean side. Dainese, hands down, fits me the best. I had the same trouble with Vanson--fit OK, but not in the length of their stuff. AlpineStars seems OK, but they never have anything in stock in my size exactly.

My sweetie bought me a custom made jacket from Johnson Leather. I love it, saved my, well, torso when I laid my bike down recently, and it fits perfectly. Of course, it has a more casual look to it, just black leather. I am especially fond of the snap-in thinsulate liner.

I too am of the long and lean persuasion, and have a hard time finding gear that fits properly. I have been fortunate with some BMW gear, but that can get fairly pricey. Dianese stuff is cut well for the ectomorphic body type but is pricey as well. The only way to get a really good fit unfortunately is to go with custom.

Thanks for the input so far. Looking like Dianse is the best bet for off the rack and then there's the custom avenue.

Have you tried any Rev'It jackets? They dont make EVERY jacket they have in a women's specific cut, but the ones they do are amazing in fit. I recently tried on a Rev'It Airforce and it was like it was made for me. So comfortable, like a second skin. And I am usually very hard to fit. They have awesome protection too. Their CE armor is form fitting, flexible, and very tough. Rev'It doesnt skimp in any area.

+1 for Dainese. Try Teknic, too.
