Hey ladies. I'm getting my bike in the next few weeks but I was curious about insurance. Since I live in the city, I don't have a car. I grew up in Florida, which is the only place I've ever had car insurance so I'm not sure how crazy the insurance is up here. I am not very knowledgeable about insurance in general because the last time I had a car; I was still in high school and my parents paid for it while I paid for the car. Can ya'll post what kind of insurance you have and from whom? If you are really generous, maybe post what the difference is about max coverage verse other types. Thanks

i'm not in nyc (about 2 hrs outside of the city) there might be some threads more specific to insuring your bike in nyc...try doing a search...but found this thread to be helpful in general about insurance.

I'm in NYC and recently switched from Progressive to Sentry (Dairyland) they were half ($590) what I was paying with progressive ($1200). And they offer discounts for alarms, riding club membership, riding courses.

You may want to look into the NYMMC local section as we have several threads on the subject.
