Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
Prompted by a thread on another board, I got to thinking... (I know--highly dangerous for a woman, but I'm a risk-taker)
Anyway, the folks were sharing stories about female cops being tougher than male cops. I've been pulled over several times by male officers and never had an issue. I don't flirt, don't lie and I don't make excuses. Every time that I've been pulled over I 100% deserved it. I'm not saying that I intentionally broke the law every time, but whatever I was being busted for at the time was a valid stop. Here's the clincher--I've never gotten actually issued a ticket by a man, only a woman. All the men I talk to say that I don't get tickets because I'm a woman, and the "powers of the boob" do not work on other women, so that's why I got cited by the female officer. I was wondering if you gals had had similar experiences. Am I completely in the clouds here thinking that it was just a coincidence that my only ticket has been issued by a female? I think it's also worth noting that I'm not particularly good-looking or large chested.

The warnings have ended for me. I am now honing my skills for contesting "performance awards".
Brightly colored bikes don't help.
I hear showing your belly ring does though... :

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
I think the appearance of your car/bike does make a difference. You're going to have a hard time "playing dumb" given your bike, Grio. [cheeky] It obviously it is a pretty serious machine and I'm guessing cops figure you have a pretty good idea of what you're doing on it by the time they pull you over. If you were teetering along the freeway in jeans and a textile jacket at 45 mph on a stock SV650 and forgot to signal, that's one thing. The story's gonna be different if you get busted pulling a 4th gear wheelie in full leathers and worn pucks on a totally blinged out Ducati. [laugh]
I've not heard if the belly ring has positive effects on one's ability to thwart tickets. I'm willing to try it if it helps.
And just so everyone knows, I'm not bagging on gals that do use their looks or flirting or whatever to get out of tickets. If you got it, use it. [thumbsup]

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
Abso-friggin'-lutely! Perfect example...
Moto_Bella and I were both stopped at a local checkpoint in NY. The male trooper conducting the stop pointed at me to pull over for not having an NY inspection sticker on my fork. I quickly pointed out that my bike is registered in NJ and the inspection sticker is on the license plate, not on the fork as specified by NY's MVS. Rookie trooper... Moto_Bella had an expired inspection sticker (by one day) and was let go.
For the record I have no prejudice against LEOs as I am a former LEO. I Just found it funny being on the other side of the badge.

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
Female friend of mine goes into a total "southern belle gone with the wind" routine when she gets pulled over by a man... she says she makes sure to *cough*show as much of herself*cough* as she can... she's yet to get a ticket and she's insane on the road...
I've only been pulled over by men, and had a gun pulled on me and have had the same cop pull me over within 500 feet of the first pull over... Just had more stuff he wanted to tell me about safe driving (85+ while towing a trailer)

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
Up until I received my first "performance award" last month, I have always been issued warnings. Whether or not that had anything to do with being female, I don't know. I'm thinking my "arrest me red" Triumph had more to do with it, I never received a ticket on either of my Ducati's both of which were/are darks. Maybe the matte black flew under the radar better than the bright red. 8)

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
I've only been pulled over once on the bike, and I was just issued a warning. The trooper was on the other side of the hwy, he didn't get the radar on us (thank goodness) and that's why we didn't get a ticket. But on the other hand he was way old, like grandpa old (it was Memorial day wknd we think he is usually an office jockey they just wanted as many officers on the roads to keep things safe) and it was the ex and I...we're older, more responsible, wearing full gear...just speeding not pulling any dangerous maneuvers.

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
I got a ticket while on the bike from a female cop. On Mother's Day!! >
Had some beers a couple of weeks later with my buddy K.C., a former cop. I asked him if he'd ever let women go if they exposed, er, parts and whatnot. His response was of the "Well, DUH! Of course we did!" variety. Then I heard many many stories of what women do to get out of tickets. Rather it was.
I haven't had the opportunity to test that theory - since then the only time I've been pulled over I had the kids in the car. As he was walking up to the car, my son said, "Good thing he didn't get you back there when you were going 100, Mommy!" :-[

Re: Do women get off easier with "the law" than men?
my boyfriend and I were both issued tickets this sunday. Mine by a male cop, his by a female. When the officer walked up to me.. he said, "hey pal show me your license..." I pulled off my helmet and started to get my license out, he then quickly says" oh your a lady......... BUT YOU RIDE LIKE A MAN!!" [laugh] I think it was an insult. [cheeky]
