Went by yesterday to get my Vanson pants that I ordered 6 weeks ago.* J.B. was there!!!!* Saw the Paul Smart and the Sport 1000.* Although the Sport 1000 looks yellow on Ducati's web site, it's really a Univ of Tenn orange color (yuck!), and had a strange combination of parts finishes (Flat Black, Chrome, Brushed Aluminum, Gloss Black).* The clutch housing is flat black on the Sport 1000, but not on the Paul Smart.* The clutch cover is chrome on both - replacing it would easily be the first mod.* Replacing the rear sets with black ones would be the second mod.* The gas filler and mirrors are chrome (mirrors are body color on Paul Smart).* Frankly, I didn't care for all the chrome, even though it gives it a 'classic' look.* The tires are tubeless with a retro looking tread (Phantom), although the wheels are spoked.* The front brake lines are black - looks good.* Both bikes use the same seat, frame, tank, wheels, rear sets, exhaust, DS1000 engine, swingarm (looks very heavy) - most everything is the same.* The brakes are standard Brembos, not the mini-Brembos used on the S2R-800 and 620.* The exhaust from the front cylinder is almost a straight pipe to the dedicated exhaust can - pretty cool.* Both bikes use clip-ons, and of course the Paul Smart has the Ohlins kit front & rear.* Sport 1000: pretty cool.* Paul Smart: a bit cooler.* Seeing J.B. again - priceless!

Ya musta have still been wearing your shades (or maybe beer goggles?... ;D). While it's more of a burnt yellow than traditional Ducati yellow, it isn't anywhere near UT orange.

They've now also got silver/black S2R1000, 620 Dark, 749 Dark and an ST3. Even a used S2R. Starting to look like a Duc dealership in there now.
