Steve,

I was thinking of getting an ST so I could do long trips all over Cal. I guess only '04 and before have dry clutches. I kinda want a dry clutch just for the noise bling. Any other improvements on newer models?

A 3 or a 4S? '04 and up has the current bodywork, better seat and digi-guages. The '04 ST3s had some recalls on the valve closer springs and ECU, IIRC.
As for the clatter of the dry clutch, I know JB would trade his for a wet clutch in a heartbeat. The wet clutch models are also a lot smoother.

As much as I like the ST3, I would try and get an '04 (dry) or '05 (wet) ST4S. Just so I can give Alain a hard time that the ST makes more HP than his 996. [laugh]

I've been looking at the BMW R1200ST also.

Uh, you took off like a bat out of hell and I ended up following the wrong dark SUV eight cars up front. Finally I just said "fuck it" and we headed over to the 'Trace. [laugh]
