Default New 2008 Monster

I don't know 'bout you guys, but this thing is hideous! Stenzel brought this to my attention yesterday and I nearly threw up. I think Ducati is going away from original styling cues and reaching in their garbage bin and piecing a bike together with left overs from Hypermotard and Multistrada. The designers need to quit being lazy and come up with something worthy, (except for headlight and wheels), of being called a "Monster". IMO!!! >

Personally, I see a motard with a monster tank and tail. And whats with the same "fold away mirrors" as the motard. I dont think this is a true rendering of the "next monster". I'm sure I'm wrong though.

With many of us that live in the Detroit area and the big 3 nearby, we see them doing stuff like this all the time to throw the media off the scent. There was even an article in this Sunday's paper about a "spy photographer" for the car mags.

Just my .02

Erik

I should rephrase, I hope I'm right cuz I'm with you...that thing is fugly :-X

I'm not sure about the headlight and hate the cans. Hopefully you're right and it's just an early idea that doesn't get beyond the drawing board.

I also think this might be to throw us off. I mean, those styling cues are everything the Monster isn't. The Monster design is classic and timeless (kinda like a Jeep) and if they are going to redesign it, they should be small things. Also, where is the damn beertray in that new picture! Some of us like those!

This crappy lookin', computer generated, shameful impersonation of a Ducati Monster needs a name... I think I'll call it the 'Monstard', monster+retard. Lol! [laugh]
