Re: Favorite riding spot
There's nothing around here except flat, straight roads with plenty of traffic and construction barrels. If I'm out that way (I grew up in Romeo) I like to ride 32 Mile west to Rochester Rd. and head north through Lakeville.
I know the DucsUnlimited guys ride N. Territorial every Sunday.

Well, I guess it depends on what your definition of "here" is!
There's well over 100 miles of VERY fun roads just west of "here".

Yeah, I know. "Here" sucks for riding "Here" is the Rosevile/SCS area.

Re: Favorite riding spot
PeteB you may have past me on N.Territorial or I you !!!!!!!!!!!! Also if you take 7 mile west out of Northville there is a few good curves - runs into 6 mile turn right and then dead ends into Whitmore Lake ( don't forget to turn there! ) Funny story I road into Plymouth last year and a young guy pulls up next to me on a sv650. We talk a little pull to next light and he asks me where are some good roads with some curves. He says that hines drive had some really good curves! I had to laugh to myself because the only way those curves would be good is if you could go 100mph !! The speed limit is 40mph.!! Thats a right he seemed like a nice kid just learning.

Re: Favorite riding spot
N Territorial rd eh? I'm gonna have to ride that this summer. I live in Macomb, so riding up towards Romeo/Lakeville road is a lot more exciting than riding around Macomb (did I mention Hall road is a gauntlet for bikes?). There is a lot of twisty hills in Oakland County too... just have to know where to go

Re: Favorite riding spot
you could also take Rochester rd north to the Lake orion/rochester rd split (just past Teinken) that road has some nice rolling hills and curves. well shit, why are we telling each other the roads and places? we'll just have to hook up and show each other these roads.
can't wait for the weather to break [thumbsup]

Re: Favorite riding spot
M-37 runs from North of Battle Creek through Hastings. It has some great rolling curves and elevation changes there as well.

Re: Favorite riding spot
Yeah, head west out of plymouth on N territorial, you can continue on North past Ann Arbor, and you'll hit lots of nice places to ride.
Hines park is nice and relaxing, but with a 40mph limit, and lots of police patrol, it certainly doesn't get the blood flowing.

Re: Favorite riding spot
I thought about riding up M25 north of Port Huron to Port Austin, but haven't yet. The road is in good shape, there aren't really any twisties, but there are some decent sweepers. Plus the road follows the lake most of the way. I've driven it in a car, and there were plenty of motorcycles along the way, but mostly Harley type cruisers.
