where to go for service?
Well Ill be up for my 12000 service in late spring. I took my bike up to TT last year for 6000 mile service but I live in Plymouth so its hard to get it there and back. How is service at Rosenau ? Its much closer but have never delt with them on Ducati service. Or anybody know a local Ducati mechanic that may work elsewhere that is good? Any help would be great.

Re: where to go for service?
The only 2 I know of is TT and Section 8. Is Section 8 still around even? There website is gone and it doesn't look like they are a sponsor on the site anymore... hmmm.

Re: where to go for service?
Detroit Eurocycles did the 18,000 mi service on my M900, but that probably doesn't help you much since they are out here on the east side (on 9 Mile east of Gratiot). They are probably closer than TT, but not by much.

I don't think so. IIRC, when all the Section 8 stuff was going down, somoeone from around here said that they drove by and the shop was completely empty.

Re: where to go for service?
Section 8 is no more. Besides Section 8, I've only dealt with Rosenau. No compliants, but only 1 after sale issue that they took care of on the spot. They also did my 600 mile service, they did it while I waited and the cost was reasonable. I'm running a full Zard system and open air box. They tweaked the stock ECU, test rode, tweaked some more, test rode, etc, until it felt right. Good people in my book.

Re: where to go for service?
I personally am not a fan of Rosenau. When I got my bike, it was from S8 and they were great, sorry they didn't make it. I would suggest TT. Its a hike to them, but I hear nothing but good things about them and there service.
Other option would be to get the LT Snyder and Haynes manuals and do the service yourself.

I totally agree with you on self service. As soon as I purchase a bike he first thing I do is order the manuals. If I can help it the only things I take my bikes to a shop for is warranty work and the mandatory service service intervals. I've bever been to TT only Section 8 and Rosenau, I'll have to give them a try.

Re: where to go for service?
Thanks guys, S8S is no more. I'll need FI adjusted this spring ( open airbox) and may try Rosenau for that and see how I like them. +1 for DIY. I pulled pressure plate and put a lightweight flywheel on myself so I may try belts next.!!!

Re: where to go for service?
You can check out Pilgrim, on Ann Arbor road in Plymouth. They're a little bit ghetto, but they just got a much nicer new building. I do a lot of my own service, but when I've been down there they've been good to me. They aren't actually a Ducati dealership, but they could do regular maintenence.

Re: where to go for service?
I see Rob and his sidekick Jose at TT Cycles [thumbsup]. I haven't had service there yet, but anytime I have tech. question , the tech in the back always comes thru for me. I think they are all good guys there.

Re: where to go for service?
I bought my M900 used from TT. Before I picked it up, Rob had the tech go over the bike. The bike had just under 18k on it and had just had the 18k mile service done at Detroit Eurocycles. The tech at DE that did the service noted that the clutch was nearing the end of its service life. The tech at TT said that the clutch was worn, but would probably still last a while. Rob had the tech but in a new clutch at no extra charge to me. I thought that was nice, considering he could have left the old clutch in there and got me for the extra couple hundred when the clutch finally went.
I've always had a good experience with Rob and TT, and as long as they're still around and I'm still around, I'll still take my bike to them (unless I learn to do it myself ;D)
