Reset (turn off) Maintenance Light

Does anyone know how to turn off or reset the maintenance light (icon) on a M796? Your help is appreciated,

To the best of my knowledge, this can only be completed by the dealer.

I am afraid you might be right. I tried the method suggested in the link and it did not work. Hopefully, it's not going to cost $65 as somebody else on this forum said the dealer was going to charge him.

I took mine in too early for 600 m service (light hadn't come on yet) now it's been on for the last 1400 miles ... There's gotta be another way besides dealer
