Default Considering a Monster 1100

I'm new to this site, and am considering a new Monster 1100. Any advice for buying in the Twin Cities? I'm up in Lino Lakes, so the two authorized Ducati dealers are both about a million miles away.

I'll also need full gear, where is the best place to pick this up? How about helmet recommendations?

I've owned two other bikes in the past, but have sold everything I own, so I'm starting all over.

Thanks!

You won't need to go to the dealer much after you buy it. I bought my S4RS from Motoprimo when my friend was working there as a sales person. I have no complaints other than a major run around on my exhaust order. Long story. They have a very good Ducati mechanic there. I have no experience with Delano but have not heard anything bad. Rumor has it that Motoprimo may open another store up north. Just a rumor.

As far as gear, I pretty much check EBAY and Craigslist if you are looking for a deal. Also newenough.com has good deals on leather, etc...Locally, Bob's cycle supply has a good selection and great prices. Motoprimo isn't bad either but they typically don't discount much. That may be changing...

Helmet? Arai. Try on several because the shape varies depending on the model. In general the new Profile fits well. In fact, a Shoei may fit you even better. The main thing is spend the money on one that is comfortable and looks cool so you will never ride without it.
