I went to Tom the Tailor on Grand Avenue and he wanted $180 to take in my Spidi leather jacket. What? Forget it.

Default Leather Tailor

I don't have a shop on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. That shop does not specialize in leather. He is a fabric dude (suits, dresses etc.) My shop is in southeast Minneapolis near Dinkytown. I operated in Dinkytown ( above Gray's Campus Drugstore) for 20 years specializing in leather. All the businesses in that location got the boot when the Loring Pasta Bar opened. I then set up shop at the old Trackstar location in the Motorcycle Mall .When Moto Primo took over , I again had to relocate. This time, I decided I had enough with moving, so I set up shop in my house. Please let people know that the guy on Grand Avenue and I are not the same person.I specilize in leather (for 29 years) He specializes in fabric. Thanks, Tom the T. 612-379-1723

Hey Tom, I didn't mean to dis your business. From all the info I got, I was told to go to Tom the Tailor on Grand Ave. So, I'm still interested in getting a Spidi jacket sized. So where are you located now? I'll stop by and show you the jacket.

Talk to Bill, I met him in 97. He would travel the North Central WERA region racing and making repairs to leathers. He got out of the racing but now owns and operates his own HANDMADE in the USA racing leathers. He is a great guy and does excellent work.

I don't know where you live, but if there is a horse race track near, then there should be a jockey/horse tack shop. I live near Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY, and I've had a local tack shop do several mods to my leather riding gear. Always good work and very reasonably priced. Much better than some of the leather specialty stores in the area.
