Default Bad Sand Patches

It's spring. Snow's gone. Sand and salt are still out there. I was thinking it might be a good idea to start a thread that lists particularly sandy/salty curves around the twin cities. I haven't ridden yet, so I don't have anything to add. But if anyone comes across a favorite corner or stretch of roast that's loaded with sand, maybe add it in here so people get a heads up.

Especially if it's the routes people seem to ride often (around Lake MTKA, south by Canon Falls, Afton area, etc.)

If this thread doesn't amount to much or just gets confusing, we can always delete it.

It's that time of year. Thanks for the reminder Erik. Personally, I try to practice patience. It's still early and right now I assume that all roads are bad, drivers won't be used to seeing me yet, it's still a little cold, and there are potholes everywhere! I'll wait till later this month to pull the bike out of storage.

Be careful everyone!

Good morning fellow 2-wheelers, i just took a ride down all my favorites in Afton, and didn't see hardly a speck of sand. It was wet in a few spots, but that's to be expected. I would have to say though, ride down them yourself at a smooth speed before ripping down them wide open, obviously. So what I'm getting at is, its worth the ride, you wont drive over here and find a beach where the road should be.

And let me know if you do come out this way, i live close to Stagecoach and HW-94, if you need a tour guide, give me a ring. [thumbsup]

No kidding? That was one of my favorite places to ride last year. All two months of riding I got in anyway. I'm not too far from you over in Oakdale.

Well, Mo, you should just leave it in the garage this year. But you can still but on your gear, sit on it and make bike sounds then go back in the house and have a grilled cheese and it will be just like your out riding [thumbsup] ;D

Hopefully I'll have my engine back from Silverback next weekend, and then I'll really test my skills and see if I can it all back together *crossing my fingers* I'm hoping to be on the road in the next two weeks. I can't wait to get back out there.
