Default wrecked bike

this fall i layed down my m750 hit the ditch at 60 and lost it between 30 and 40, besides handle bars and paint and a few other minor things is there anything else that i should be looking for as far as damage goes??? maybe someone has done something similar and knows what to look for.

Not sure what happened by your description but did you hit the front end? Bent forks, cracked steering head, triple clamps. I would look there.

well as far as i know i think the front wheel went into a gopher hole or something like that because i went over the bars. as far as i can tell the forks and everything up front look ok visually but then again i have nothing to compair it to either.

Have a reputable mechanic look at it and determine if it bent, out, of whack, or just fine.

I say this because of your comment "as far as I can tell" which leads me to beleive that you would not know what to look for.

If you wish to attmept yourself here are some things you can try.

Get the Front end in the air (and go really fast....Just Kidding) with a stand that supports from the Tripple clamps. Spin the wheel and see if it spins freely. If it hangs up remove the calipers, and spin it again. If it still hangs up, then you are definitely "out of whack", but not necissarily bent. Loosen from the bottom clamp bolts up, leaving the top set still tight. re-install the calipers. Spin the wheel as fast as you can by hand, and snap the brakes on quickly (making a thud noise). Repeat this several times. Tighten all of the clamp bolts again, and spin the wheel. If it still hangs up it is most likely a little bent, and at this point requires an actual service Tech to diagnose and repair.

Good Luck
