How bad of an Idea.....
is it to keep new tires, race and street in my cold garage. Will the cold wreck them? I just bought 3 sets of tires for the track and street and got them in my garage is this a bad idea? Gabe, Mark, any help would be apperciated. :-\

Re: How bad of an Idea.....
We discussed it already off of here but for anyone wondering...it's important with RACE TIRES to maintain a more constant temp. because they are not made to go through multiple heat cycles like your street tires are. So I have just always tried to keep mine indoors to avoid those temp. fluctuations. They stay approx. room temp that way.
I've just always done that because I prefer to baby them...afterall that tiny contact patch is the only thing keeping me from unwanted high speed acrobatics.
I know that some people keep them in the garage too as long as the garage stays cold.

keep them inside if they are new.
If they are frozen and you drop them they will crack easily so I keep new ones inside and teh take offs stay outside.

Re: How bad of an Idea.....
Thanks guys. As Gabe knows I may be nuts. This time of year all I do is worry, think, redo, and rethink and redo everything motorcycle related. Honestly I need a winter hobby. :P

Hmm...sounds like you already have a winter hobby If you want a slightly different hobby, you could always come take my bike apart [thumbsup]

Re: How bad of an Idea.....
I think something away from motorcycles. Maybe interpretive dance or maybe I can get a b-dazler and make some "fun" hats for the team and pit monkeys.

Perhaps you should also add re-assembly to the request.

You know that I'm much too anal for that. Actually I wouldn't even let someone else take it apart. It's fun to joke about but in the end, I only trust me....wait that's kinda scary :
