Default To ride or not to ride, that is the question

I've changed the oil, but I need to top off the tank and add stabil to the gas before I store the Monster.

Should I take it for a long ride on a cold day, then top it off?
Or should I just add gas to the tank and add the stabil to that?

I know it's best to run the stabil through the fuel system so you don't end up with clogged injectors, but I also don't want to get any extra vapor in the engine oil (milky glass) before I store it.

Default Re: To ride or not to ride, that is the question

What I do is put stabil in whatever amout of fuel is in the tank. Getting the stabil to the injectors is more importiant than avoiding the moisture in the oil which after one good ride will be gone. It doesn't take long for the stabil to go through the fuel system, you can smell the difference comming out the exhaust, it smells much sweeter. I useually do it with half a tank or less because then I can put fresh gas in it when I'm ready to ride and the new gas dulutes the old stabil gas even more. If I were you I would just dump the stabil in and let it idle for 5-10 min. and put her away, take battery out store in house put on stands. This is what I just did on Sunday I found that it is hard to avoid moisture getting in in the spring no matter what (through breather valve etc). This is how I do it, I hope it's right, it's always worked for me.
