Bike Storage - Salt water problems?

I know there are lots of threads on this topic, but I have a Minnesota specific question.

I need to store my bike in the garage next to the car that gets used all winter. Do I need to worry about the salty snow melting off the car? Can it do anything to the bike? Am I just being paranoid?

I store my bikes in the garage near my cars, and I haven't had any ill-effects from salt. My Monster is under a breathable cover and on a rearstand. It's pretty well isolated from everything except the cold (though, I may ask Santa for a Modine garage heater >).

As long as you're not splashing salt water on the bike when you enter/exit the garage with your car, your bike should be OK.
